"HEY MR. CARTER...."

A few months ago I was commissioned to paint a portrait
for Lil Wayne to commemorate his 4 Grammy wins in '08.
A big thank you to Benjie Schwartz for making this all happen!!

It's always nerve wracking when I send a painting to a
major performer (especially one that I admire) and
wait to see his response. I was glad to get the thumbs up
from both himself, and his management at the end if it all!
The portrait currently resides with Lil Wayne at his Miami home.

This happened pretty fast... I was introduced to this new site by my brother from another Tessar Lo haha.
It's dedicated too the arts, witch is always good to see.
It was put together by Pharrell (N.E.R.D.) or Pharrell Williams your preference.
The site is called Artst Guild & Gallery. It's a online community where artists meet, share work and collaborate.

AMY BABY!!!

Ive been jacked with work for a bit, but I'm getting back into things.
Here are two piece's I've been playing around with for a couple months.
At first I was just going to leave them painted,
but after the good feed back with the Pharrell piece,
I kept these back to experiment a little more...

Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

So, I walked into this piece thinking to myself...I need to work digital to work faster....bullshit, this piece took longer then a painting would have.
But the results that I got from this piece, I would have never been able to recreate with paint.
I've been experimenting with medium trying to find a cretin "glow".
And I think I'm finding my way there after doing this piece.
I pretty much mashed everything I could think of into this. It has traditional,collage and digital all rolled up together.
And it has been the most enjoyable pieces I've done in a bit.
